Whether you’re looking to take a stroll alongside the La Salle River, play a round at Kingswood Golf and Country Club or simply spend your days enjoying the natural beauty of the prairies, you can do it all in La Salle, Manitoba.
The town of La Salle has a rich and storied past. The land was purchased by the Roman Catholic Church in 1882 to establish the St. Hyacinthe Seminary. In 1891, the municipal council formed the St. Hyacinthe School District and by the early 1900s, the area had a post office, grain elevator and close to 300 people living in the region.
La Salle quickly became known for its rich farmland and bustling rail line. Over the coming decades, the growing community added a lumberyard, garage, hockey rink, sports club and Credit Union. By 1977, a The Villager paper was established and in 1985, a multi-sports complex was built. La Salle is currently one of the fastest growing urban centres in Manitoba and home to over 2,400 residents.
